This website aims to assist people who are looking for independent psychiatric care in London and the Thames Valley. It provides some brief information about some of the main psychological problems encountered in adults. There are some links to useful websites and contact details.

Our aim is to offer rapid access to psychiatric assessment and diagnosis and if necessary facilitate swift referral onwards to the most appropriate psychological therapies, day-care or in-patient facilities. Having developed links with a wide variety of major private healthcare providers and individual therapists in and around London we believe that we can offer patients wider choice in the type of treatments available.

Consultations are in Central London, Windsor and Maidenhead. Patients may only be seen for an assessment with approval from their General Practitioner. Prior to booking an appointment advice is given regarding the cost of a consultation, any tests needed or treatments recommended. Medico-legal and Occupational Health examinations may be undertaken following instructions by law firms or medical insurance companies.

Dr Paul Loughlin set up this website. He is fully registered with the General Medical Council. He holds specialist status in General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry. After graduating from St Bartholomew’s Hospital London in 1992 he undertook postgraduate Psychiatric training in London and Oxford. He has held an NHS Consultant Post based in Ascot since 2001. Dr Loughlin is recognised by most of the major UK health insurers as are the therapists he refers patients to.
